A true wilderness medicine icon, the SAM Splint is built from a thin core of aluminum alloy sandwiched between two layers of closed-cell foam. The splint is extremely pliable, but bend it into any of three simple curves, and it becomes extremely rigid and supportive for any fractured, sprained, or injured limb.

I'm a ski patroller and have experience with Sam splints. I was very surprised when I opened the package to find three splints WITHOUT labels on them (i.e., they don't look like the photo). First time I'd ever seen a Sam-brand splint without the maker's imprint on it. These splints are very thin ... too thin ... so I will have to use two in a sandwich to make a proper splint. Something ain't right here.

GUess the splints don't have markings on them... they called me after I left negative feedback (I did e-mail earlier).
